What it means
ICH70003I means the installation's limit on consecutive failed password or pass phrase attempts has been passed. RACF then revokes the user ID, so it can no longer be used to sign on or run work.
Ask your RACF security administrator to reactivate the ID. Trying more passwords will not reactivate it, so stop and ask for help.
Typical causes
- Too many wrong password or pass phrase entries in a row.
- A saved password in a job, script or tool no longer matches, so every run fails.
- The installation's limit on consecutive attempts was reached before anyone noticed.
How to fix it
- Stop signing on or submitting work with the same credentials.
- Contact your RACF security administrator to have the user ID reactivated, through the normal process.
- Once the ID is reactivated, update any saved password in jobs or tools before running them again.
- Check how the job or session supplies its password, so the same failures do not repeat.
