What it means
RESP 11 on a START means the TERMID given is not a terminal CICS knows. It can also happen when the name given is a connection that is not an ISC or MRO connection.
If the program does not test RESP for it, CICS ends the task abnormally.
Typical causes
- The terminal ID is misspelt or the field holding it has the wrong value.
- A printer or terminal name from another region is used in this one.
- A connection name was given that is not an ISC or MRO connection.
How to fix it
- Check the TERMID value the program passes.
- Use CEMT I TERMINAL(xxxx) to see whether the terminal exists in this region now.
- If the target is a remote system, check that the name is an ISC or MRO connection, not some other kind.
- Test RESP after START and log the TERMID when TERMIDERR comes back.
