ICH06011I

RACLISTed profiles not refreshedRACF MESSAGE

Profile changes were saved to the RACF database but not yet to the in-storage copies for a RACLISTed class. A SETROPTS REFRESH applies them.

MOST LIKELY

A PERMIT command changed a profile in a RACLISTed class.

FIRST CHECK

Ask the RACF security administrator to run SETROPTS RACLIST(class) REFRESH for the class named in the message.

What it means

ICH06011I is seen after a command changes profiles in a class that is RACLISTed. RACF keeps an in-storage copy of those profiles for faster checks. The change is written to the RACF database, but the in-storage copy stays as it was until it is refreshed, so the change does not take effect yet.

The refresh is a SETROPTS command with the RACLIST and REFRESH operands for that class. The message can be ignored only when both apply: it came from a RALTER of a STARTED or DLFCLASS profile, and only the STDATA or DLFDATA segments changed.

Typical causes

  • A PERMIT command changed a profile in a RACLISTed class.
  • A RALTER command changed a profile in a RACLISTed class.
  • Profile changes were made but no SETROPTS refresh has followed them.

How to fix it

  1. Ask the RACF security administrator to run SETROPTS RACLIST(class) REFRESH for the class named in the message.
  2. Check whether both exceptions apply (a RALTER of a STARTED or DLFCLASS profile that changed only STDATA or DLFDATA); if so, the message can be ignored.
  3. Otherwise, plan the refresh through the normal change process, because it changes what is held in storage.
  4. After the refresh, check the change with the matching RACF list command.
