What it means

ICH09020I shows the profile name that was not found. Processing continues with the next profile name in the command.

One known cause is deleting a fully qualified generic data set profile without saying it is generic. RACF then looks only for a discrete profile of that name.

Typical causes

  • The profile name is mistyped.
  • The profile does not exist or was already deleted.
  • A generic profile was addressed without the GENERIC operand.

How to fix it

  1. Check the profile name carefully.
  2. Add the GENERIC operand if the profile is generic.
  3. List the profiles with the matching list command to confirm what exists.
  4. Ask your RACF administrator if you are unsure which profile covers the resource.
