What it means

SAF return code 0 comes back in register 15 from a RACROUTE call. For REQUEST=AUTH (and RACHECK) it means the access that was asked for is permitted.

It is the normal result you want to see; nothing needs fixing.

Typical causes

  • The user or group has enough access to the resource.
  • The request was accepted by RACF or the installation exit.
  • A security administrator granted the needed access earlier.

How to fix it

  1. No action needed.
  2. If access is still failing elsewhere, check the application logic and the access level it requests.
  3. Remember SAF 0 only covers this one check; other resources may still be refused.

Example

Illustrative only; names and values are invented.

RACROUTE REQUEST=AUTH,CLASS='FACILITY',ENTITY=PAY.APP.OPEN,ATTR=READ
  -> R15 = 0   (access allowed)
