What it means
To use a cluster queue that is not yet known locally, the queue manager asks the cluster's full repositories. If the repository manager does not respond, MQOPEN, MQPUT or MQPUT1 fails with 2189. It can also happen while REFRESH CLUSTER runs.
Typical causes
- The repository manager on this queue manager is not running.
- Cluster channels to the full repositories are stopped or retrying.
- Cluster queue or channel definitions are wrong.
- A REFRESH CLUSTER is in progress.
How to fix it
- Check that the repository manager is running (on z/OS it runs in the channel initiator).
- Run DISPLAY CHSTATUS for the cluster-sender channels to the full repositories.
- Check queue and cluster channel definitions, and DISPLAY CLUSQMGR output.
- Retry after the cluster has settled.
