What it means

DISABLED means the resource exists but has been disabled, so CICS will not use it. On WRITEQ TD, IBM lists it as meaning the queue is disabled.

An operator or a process usually disabled it on purpose, so check before enabling it again.

Typical causes

  • An operator disabled the resource.
  • A maintenance or batch process disabled it.
  • The resource was installed in a disabled state.

How to fix it

  1. Check the resource status (for example with CEMT INQUIRE).
  2. Find out why it was disabled before enabling it.
  3. Code RESP (and RESP2) on the command and test the value with DFHRESP.
