What it means
Messages for another queue manager are placed on a transmission queue first. That queue must be defined with USAGE(XMITQ). If name resolution ends at a local queue with normal usage, the open fails with 2092. It is also used in the Transmission Queue Usage Error event.
Typical causes
- The queue named in XMITQ, or named after the remote queue manager, has USAGE(NORMAL).
- ObjectQMgrName matches a local queue that is not a transmission queue.
- On z/OS, XMITQ is SYSTEM.QSG.TRANSMIT.QUEUE but intra-group queuing is not enabled.
How to fix it
- Check the ObjectName and ObjectQMgrName values in the call.
- Display the queue that the route resolves to and check USAGE.
- Define a proper transmission queue with USAGE(XMITQ), or fix the remote queue definition.
- On z/OS, enable intra-group queuing if that is the intended route.
