What it means
NOSPACE says the target is full. On WRITEQ TD, IBM says it means the queue is full (or an intrapartition address would go past 2 GB) and that you should stop writing because data may be lost.
It is a capacity problem, so the fix is usually outside the program.
Typical causes
- The transient data queue or its data set is full.
- The data set behind a file has run out of space.
- Data is written faster than it is read off the queue.
How to fix it
- Stop writing to the full resource and alert support.
- Ask the system programmer to enlarge or empty the data set or queue.
- Check that the program or trigger that reads the queue is running.
- Code RESP (and RESP2) on the command and test the value with DFHRESP.
